Laughs, Deceit, and Double Trouble

The permanently ravenous Francis Henshall has a slight problem. He has two employers who he must keep from finding out about each other. One is East End hood Roscoe Crabbe who is now in Brighton to collect a debt from his fiancée’s dad. The other is Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police having killed one Roscoe Crabbe. And the Roscoe Crabbe, now in Brighton, is his own twin sister Rachel who is trying to re-unite with her boyfriend Stanley.

Did we say a ‘slight problem’?

This modern adaptation by Richard Bean of the 1746 Commedia Dell ‘Arte classic, ‘Servant of Two Masters’ is a fast-paced laugh out loud farce that updates the action to 1960s Brighton. Whilst Francis tries to keep his two guvnors from meeting, he must overcome a few other complications along the way including several important letters, a very heavy trunk, and the serving of a simple lunch at The Cricketer’s Arms.

Can Francis stop his two guvnors from finding out about each other, keep both his jobs and get a decent meal?

Come along and find out!
