As children they fought over The Rabbit, as adults they’re tearing their family apart – The funny side of loss and sibling rivalry
Set in modern day Newcastle, The Rabbit is a play about how we deal with grief, and sibling rivalry, set in an educated Lambton household. With all the collective grief we’ve been experiencing it gives the audience the opportunity to laugh out loud at the way we’ll do anything not to feel the loss. It looks at the powerful relationship between two competitive brothers and how they battle over everything – the eponymous rabbit they were given as small children, the memory of their deceased father, their grieving mother and even the older brother’s beautiful Italian wife.
